New for 2022 is the addition of three clinics geared toward the beginner triathlete/duathlete or those veterans who just want to hone their skills. Each clinic will focus on the unique characteristics of each stage and provide an opportunity to learn and meet other triathletes planning on competing. Check out the schedule below.

Swim Clinic -  Saturday, May 7, 2022 from noon to 2 p.m. Davis Family YMCA

Led by veteran triathlete Corky Pike, The swim clinic will focus on stroke mechanics to make you the most efficient in the water as possible. Several Steel Valley Tri Club members will be on hand to help give individualized attention. Practical tips on the transition from the swim to the bike are all part of the clinic.

Bike Clinic -  Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 9-11 am  Trailside Bicycle Co. 6685 Kirk Rd, Canfield, OH.

Trailside Bicycle's owner Tim Knight will host this practical clinic on basic bike repairs and adjustments. Afterwards, stick around for a group  ride on the MetroParks bike trail. 

Run Clinic Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 9-11 am at the Davis Family YMCA

Eight time Ironman finisher, physical therapist and triathlon coach Caitlin Sapp of Crew Racing and Rehab will advise participants on how to approach the run training portion of the triathlon. Topics covered will be

 

  1. How to structure your week of workouts amidst a busy schedule.

  2. How to create workouts specific to your goals.

  3. Triathlon specific run workouts

  4. How to set up an execute your bike to run transition.

After the clinic, join co - race director Tom Grantonic and other members of the Steel Valley Tri Club for an easy run on the triathlon run course.
